The use of deer antler velvet goes back over 10,000 years in Chinese and Korean cultures. The first written record dates back to 206 B.C. to A.D. 200.
Chinese doctors claim that antler velvet brings power and strength to the kidneys, improves lung function and helps the body to process energy quickly and efficiently while strengthening the organs of endurance. Traditional Chinese medicine claims that it has a positive effect on male impotence and general sexual debility, prostatic problems and incontinence. Women have fewer menstrual disorders, better sex drive, higher fertility, better weight loss and more healthy childbearing and nursing.

The Invermay Research Center in Otago, New Zealand, working with the Universities of Canterbury and Otago, has found that the use of deer antler velvet improves cell growth and that antler velvet demonstrates anti-tumor and antiviral properties. According to Dr. Duarte, when IGF-1 came in contact with a Leukemia cell, the leukemia cell died instantly.
In a recent human clinical study conducted in the year 2000, Jeffry L. Anderson, M.D., demonstrated that taking three sprays of the liquid deer antler velvet twice daily elevated the IGF-1 by 12.9% within 28 days. Recent IGF-1 studies show a definitive improvement in heart function and normalization in blood pressure.
A Japanese animal research study published in 1988 found increased liver function after administering antler velvet.
